PSG arrive for the Champions League final looking to defend the crown they secured at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Arsenal are chasing a stunning double this season with the English Premier League champions eyeing up a Champions League crown.

The pair have met seven times before, with Arsenal winning three times, PSG winning twice and two games ending as draws.

PSG Form

PSG have been outstanding across the latter stages of their Champions League campaign with the French side eliminating Monaco, Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

Their semi-final against Bayern Munich showcased the superb attacking football they have adopted. A 5-4 win at home was followed by a 1-1 draw in Germany, with the pair playing out a thrilling tie.

In the final, the clash of styles will be stark. PSG’s normal approach to a game would be to blow the opposition away with slick and incisive play. Meanwhile, Arsenal will arrive looking to keep things tight in the match as they try to stay compact at the back.

Will this result in the pair cancelling each other out? If PSG can get at Arsenal and take the lead then it will force Arsenal to chase the game, meaning spaces will open up and PSG will thrive. However, with the Gunners so good defensively and looking to frustrate PSG, I predict the Ligue 1 outfit will struggle to pull away from the English side.

Arsenal Form

Arsenal have enjoyed a stunning run to the Champions League final on the back of 11 wins and three draws.

Eight of these wins have come with clean sheets while one of their draws ended goalless. The Gunners have hardly been prolific going forward in Europe of late, with the English side scoring one goal or less in five of their last six. Finals have tended to be quite cagey affairs, and I predict that this year’s showpiece event will follow the same trend.

Arsenal have been excellent at forcing the opposition’s chances to dry up whilst jumping on their own chances. If Arsenal can get the first goal then they will back themselves to keep PSG at bay, although this will be easier said than done.

With Arsenal’s defence excellent and PSG’s attack incredibly strong, I back the pair to play out a battling draw after 90 minutes. I believe this will then lead to the Gunners triumphing after extra time, with the English side capping off a superb week with another trophy.

I am backing the pair to be locked level after 90 minutes before the Gunners find a way to triumph after extra time in an enthralling Champions League final.
