Aryna Sabalenka crushed Xinyu Wang in the third round of the Cincinnati Open as she secured a 6-1 6-3 triumph.

Sara Bejlek needed a deciding set to beat Ekaterina Alexandrova 4-6 6-1 6-2 to make it three consecutive wins at the tournament.

Aryna Sabalenka was not troubled in the third round of the Cincinnati Open as she notched consecutive wins at the tournament on the back of a 2-0 win over Xinyu Wang.

Her second round clash against Talia Gibson was the more competitive of her two outings as she secured a 6-2 7-6 win. Despite it being slightly more of a battle, Sabalenka was still largely untroubled. With the US Open edging ever closer, Sabalenka will feel that winning the Cincinnati Open is the perfect way to build towards the final Slam of the year.

With 289 wins in 389 hard court matches across her career, Sabalenka has impressed on the surface. While Bejlek is something of an unknown quantity to Sabalenka as the pair have never met before, I still back the favourite to cruise to a simple win.

Sara Bejlek Form

Sara Bejlek has been winning progressively harder matches at the Cincinnati Open in 2026, but the quality of opponent rises about as high as it can get in the fourth round.

The first round saw Bejlek hammer Karolina Pliskova in a very impressive 6-0 6-2 win. She was then pushed hard by Barbora Krejcikova in a 7-6 6-4 triumph before she came from a set down to beat Ekaterina Alexandrova 4-6 6-1 6-2 in the third round.

While Bejlek has had a handle on each opponent despite the rise in quality, this is a clash I do not back her to win. Sabalenka is arguably the best player in the women's game right now, and this will likely end as a learning experience for a player that looks likely to have a bright future ahead of her.
