Aliaksandra Sasnovich beat Daria Kasatkina 7-5 6-0 in the first round in Singapore as she was rewarded in the second set after seemingly breaking her opponent’s spirit after a tight first set.

This win saw Sasnovich notch only a second win in her last six outings after a string of defeats in Athens, Prague, Cincinnati and New York. This poor run has seen Sasnovich slump to 21 defeats in 47 matches in 2026.

In her clash with Andreeva, Sasnovich is really up against it. The odds suggest this should be a simple win for the former, and I predict that will be the case. Andreeva surged to a 6-1 6-3 win when the pair met back in 2024, and I back the 19-year-old to notch yet another victory.
