Namibia vs South Africa T20 Preview & Tips

Namibia are looking to repeat the trick against South Africa after securing an 18-run win over their opponent in late-August.

South Africa were excellent against Zimbabwe in their last T20 as they stormed to 43-run win over their opponent.

South Africa have won four of their last five T20's across competitions (L1)

Head To Head

The pair have met three times before in the shortest format, with Namibia winning twice and South Africa winning once.

Namibia were consigned to what may yet prove a defining loss in their own T20 Tri-Series by an inspired Zimbabwe.

Batting first, Namibia battled to what looked a competitive 156/6 as Gerhard Erasmus starred with 88 from 48. However, they struggled to take regular wickets early in Zimbabwe's innings as their opponents battled to 124/2. While they did lose a handful of wickets on their way to a five-wicket win, the majority of the damage had already been done.

Now, Namibia need to win their final outing against South Africa. Defeat will see the Proteas confirm their place at the summit, while a win would put them in the mix to move into the final. While they did beat South Africa in their opener, they have since lost twice, and I back the Proteas to eliminate Namibia form their own tournament.

South Africa Form

After three of their four group-stage matches, South Africa sit on four points with their fate in their own hands. A win in their final match will see them finish at the top after a solid campaign in which they have won twice and lost once.

Last time out, the Proteas roared to 185/7 before bowling Zimbabwe out for 142. This made it consecutive wins over their opponents after South Africa had won by seven wickets at the end of August.

Dewald Brevis continues to impress across the T20 Tri-Series with 191 runs in three matches at 95.50. His score of 41 from 27 last time out saw Brevis continue the excellent work of his openers, and I back him to impress once again as he takes on Namibia's bowling unit.

Revenge will be at the forefront of South Africa's mind in this one after they were beaten by Namibia in an 18-run loss in the opening match of the competition. With South Africa eyeing a third straight win, I back Brevis to lead them to victory.
