Galle Gallants vs Kandy Royals Preview & Tips

Galle Gallants have been excellent across their Lanka Premier League campaign with a 44-run win over Dambulla Sixers in their last game meaning they have secured four victories in six outings.

Kandy Royals were given a lesson in cricket by Jaffna Kings last time out as they were crushed in a 93-run loss.

Galle have won two of their last three against Kandy (L1)

Galle have won five of their last 10 T20's against Kandy, with the latter winning the other five.

Galle Gallants bounced back from a disappointing 11-run loss to Kandy Royals earlier in the month with a commanding 44-run win over Dambulla Sixers to ensure they did not slump to consecutive defeats.

In that win, Galle surged to 220/6 before restricting Dambulla to 176/7. Chamika Karunaratne's unbeaten 72 from 34 ensured Galle posted an imposing score before they impressed with the ball. With four wins from their opening six matches, Galle will be confident that they can secure successive wins in the LPL.

Of course, things will not be completely straightforward in this one. Their 11-run loss to Kandy a few days ago will play on their minds, but if Galle can hit top gear then they are the side to back in this one.

Kandy Royals Form

Kandy Royals were nowhere near their best in their last outing as they slumped to a heavy 93-run defeat at the hands of Jaffna Kings.

While the margin of defeat was enormous, the psychological damage this will do to the team could be made even more crushing if they are to slump to another defeat. In that loss, Jaffna battled to 199/4 before skittling Kandy for 106. Had it not been for Lahiru Udara (54 from 41), Kandy would have been well short of triple-figures.

While they will hope that things can only get better, I predict that Kandy will slip to another defeat. Their batting unit was poor against Jaffna, and I believe this will prove to be their undoing once again.
