The 2026 US Open is the last Grand Slam of the year as the best players in the world battle to write their name into the history books.
Carlos Alcaraz is the reigning champion and is still on course to defend the crown he secured back in 2025.

Carlos Alcaraz arrived for the final Grand Slam of the year as the reigning champion after triumphing back in 2025. However, he has his work cut out if he is to cap off his return to the court with the trophy.
The main positive for Alcaraz will be the fortunes of two of his biggest rivals. Jannik Sinner was forced to skip the US Open due to a knee injury, while Novak Djokovic was stunned in the first round as he was knocked out early.
Alcaraz arrived as the player to back, but injuries have curtailed his involvement on the tour in 2026. Despite this, he has impressed on his way towards potentially winning the US Open once again.
While the quality of Alcaraz is clear, he will not have everything his own way at the tournament. Indeed, Alexander Zverev is also available in the betting and will be buoyed by his first Grand Slam triumph at the French Open earlier this year.
Zverev has often been very hit and miss at major events and will not be given any leeway by Alcaraz. While Sinner and Djokovic will not appear in the second week of the tournament, Zverev will likely have to beat Alcaraz to secure the trophy.
With the tournament hurtling towards its conclusion, one bad set could be the difference between someone taking their place in the final or missing out completely.
While Alcaraz and Zverev are the favourites for the silverware, they will have to be in top gear across the tournament. Can either of the duo win the final Slam of the year, or will one of their competitors stun the world of tennis?
