Galle Marvels vs Jaffna Kings Preview & Tips - Galle Marvels to secure consecutive wins over the Kings

Jaffna Kings edged to a thrilling five-run win over Colombo Kaps in their last game as their score of 179/6 proved just about enough. 

Galle have won four of their last 10 T20's against the Kings, with Jaffna winning the other six matches. 

Galle Marvels would have felt confident in their last outing after posting a score of 178/8 against Dambulla Sixers that saw most of their top-order fire with the bat. 

Despite taking two wickets for 34 runs, this came as the Marvels started quickly, taking just 3.3 overs to breach the 30-run mark. Their fast start ensured that the Marvels were always on the back-foot as they failed to find regular wickets. 

With the Sixers triumphing with six wickets and 23 balls to spare, the Marvels would likely have needed well in excess of 210 to really put the pressure on their opponents. 

Despite this defeat, the Marvels still find themselves at the summit, although things are incredibly tight. A win over one of the sides also on four points would be a major statement, although it will not be easy. Galle have won two of their last three against their opponents and four of their last six, and with this in mind, I am backing Galle to secure a crucial win.

Jaffna Kings rode their luck in their last game against Colombo Kaps as they notched a pulsating five-run win. 

Their score of 179/6 looked competitive on the surface, and so it proved as the Kaps slumped to 52/4 after 8.1 overs in their chase. However, their opponents rallied well as they made it to 100 runs without losing a wicket. While the wickets did begin to tumble after they reached the 100-run mark, on a different day, the Kaps would have likely piled the pressure on the Kings. 

As previously mentioned, the Marvels have a good record against their opponents of late, winning four of their last six meetings. While the Kings have notched six wins in their last 10 T20 match-ups, four of these wins came in 2023 or earlier, and I back the Kings to continue to struggle against their opponents.
