London Spirit vs Manchester Super Giants Preview & Tips - Super Giants to begin The Hundred with important win

Manchester Super Giants are also eyeing a better run in 2026 after finishing above the Spirit by virtue of their superior net run rate. 

This season, the focus will be on ensuring they start with a win. Manchester Super Giants may have gone through a name change, but they will still be nervous that their sixth-placed finish may follow them into the new season. 

The likes of Liam Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow and David Willey will provide English firepower, although I still question whether they have what it takes to tangle with the best. Of course, the format of the game means that matches can turn at a moment's notice, but with the likes of Jos Buttler, Gus Atkinson, Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram, Josh Tongue and Tim Seifert in town, I predict the Spirit will struggle. 

Three wins in eight attempts saw them finish eight points short of Northern Superchargers in third. The difference between the top three and the rest was large enough that the Super Giants, along with their competitors, need a real rethink ahead of the new season. 

One of their hopes will be that the rebrand from Manchester Originals to Manchester Super Giants will help. Two wins across their final four in 2025 was solid if unspectacular, but I predict that they will make it consecutive wins across competitions at least. Jos Buttler scored 131 for England against India in their final T20, and I back him to impress in his opening appearance at the competition this season.
