Dambulla Sixers vs Kandy Preview & Tips

Dambulla Sixers were unable to make it consecutive wins in the Lanka Premier League after they slipped to a five-wicket loss at the hands of Jaffna Kings.

Kandy Royals were swatted aside in their second match of the LPL season in a six-wicket defeat to Colombo Kaps.

The Sixers beat their opponents by 18 runs in their last meeting

Dambulla have won three of their last 10 T20's against Kandy, with the latter winning the other seven.

Dambulla Sixers trundled to a disappointing score of 130 all out in their latest game against Jaffna Kings as their batting unit failed to really put the opposition under sustained pressure.

With the ball, the Sixers were right in the game when they had the Kings at 35/3, but they could only take two more wickets as their opponents notched a five-wicket win. This defeat saw the momentum they had built from winning their opener against the Royals stall.

Fortunately for the Sixers, they will feel another clash with a Royals side that have lost both of their opening matches is a game they can win. While they have been poor against their opponents, losing seven of their last 10 meetings, the Sixers are my pick to secure a second win in three LPL matches.

Kandy Form

Kandy Royals have really struggled across their opening two matches, losing both games and slipping to the foot of the standings.

Their opening match saw Kandy struggle to contain the Sixers as they smashed their way to 205/6 before restricting the Royals to 187/6. Against the Colombo Kaps, Kandy battled to 179 before seeing their score chased down with six wickets and two deliveries to spare.

The worry for Kandy is that they have failed to restrict their two opponents to less than 180 runs, while they have failed to go beyond 187 runs in their two openers. The Sixers looked in good touch in their opening clash, and I predict that the Royals will slump to a third consecutive defeat.
